Help Shape Safer Pharmacy ServicesAre you a passionate and resilient pharmacist who puts patient safety at the heart of everything you do?We are looking for a Patient Safety Pharmacist to join our Professional Standards and Governance team. This is an exciting opportunity to use your clinical expertise, investigative skills and professional judgement to improve patient outcomes, support pharmacy colleagues, and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.About the RoleAs a Patient Safety Pharmacist, you will lead the investigation and review of patient safety incidents, identifying root causes, assessing risks and ensuring effective actions are put in place to prevent recurrence.You will provide expert professional, legal and ethical guidance to pharmacy teams and operational leaders on patient safety incidents, safeguarding concerns and complex complaints. Working collaboratively across the business, you will support governance processes, analyse trends, and influence improvements that enhance patient care and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and review patient safety incidents and identify associated risks.Conduct root cause analysis and recommend appropriate corrective actions.Provide professional advice and support on patient safety, safeguarding and complex complaints.Lead sensitive conversations with patients and their representatives following incidents.Analyse incident and complaints data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.Review, create and update Standard Operating Procedures to support safe pharmacy practice.Support the resolution of escalated patient safety complaints.Act as a Controlled Drugs specialist, supporting the management and reporting of incidents and discrepancies.Influence pharmacy and operational teams to improve governance, compliance and patient safety outcomes.Contribute to governance meetings and share learning across the organisation.About YouWe're looking for someone who:Is a GPhC or PSNI registered Pharmacist.Has a strong understanding of pharmacy legislation, professional standards and governance frameworks.Is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and safety.Demonstrates excellent communication and influencing skills.Can confidently manage challenging situations and difficult conversations.Has strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities.Builds effective relationships with colleagues, patients and external stakeholders.Remains calm, resilient and optimistic under pressure.Is comfortable using IT systems and databases to analyse and report data.What's in it for You?This is a unique opportunity to influence patient safety on a wider scale, helping to drive best practice and improve outcomes for patients across the organisation.
