Job description

To provide specialist assessments of children and young people referred to the team with the use of evidence-based assessment tools and plan clinical care accordingly. Assessments may be carried out individually or jointly with other colleagues from the team.

To be responsible for implementing a range of interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups.

To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual.

To always practice wherever possible using shared decision making around prescribing medication, ensuring requirements of capacity and consent are met, with clear clinical documentation, following local and national policies, procedures and legislation.

To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose needs are managed by high quality service user care and treatment plans.
