Job description
Applicants should have broad experience in Acute and General Medicine, excellent team-working skills, and a commitment to multidisciplinary working. We are supported by a growing team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners, alongside nursing and pharmacy colleagues.
Candidates must hold MRCP (or equivalent) and be on the Specialist Register, or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview (for UK trainees). All other applicants must be on the Specialist Register.
If shortlisted, candidates will be asked to deliver a 10-minute presentation on:
“How would you improve the quality of the Acute Medicine service at Leeds? ”

The Trust has a strong track record in teaching and research, and applicants with interests in these areas will be supported to continue this work. While consultant-led, our service places strong emphasis on trainee supervision, which is integral to daily clinical activity.
Opportunities to develop a specialist interest are supported within the job plan, with 1 PA allocated. The department has excellent access to point-of-care ultrasound, with established FAMUS trainers within the team.
The Trust is committed to delivering sustainable, consultant-delivered services, with senior clinical presence across 24/7 working patterns. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to service development and job planning aligned with this model.
