• Participate in providing physics support to a high-quality Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine Service, using complex, sophisticated imaging, non-imaging and data processing equipment, ensuring that all procedures are carried out according to written procedures and guidelines.

• Manipulates radioactive (gamma and beta emitting radioisotopes) patient samples including blood, faeces and urine.

• To assist in the amendment, and writing, of protocols and workflows used in imaging procedures and data processing.

• Participate in the programme of quality control for complex Nuclear Medicine equipment as directed by the Head of Nuclear Medicine Physics.

• To prepare radioactive phantoms for quality control testing of equipment.

• To process nuclear medicine images and non-diagnostic tests for reporting.

• To follow procedures for the management of radioactive waste.

• To participate in the decontamination of Therapy rooms.

• To aid and support Clinical Scientists in the delivery of the molecular radiotherapy service.

• To prepare and manage spreadsheets and databases, used for calculation of test results and maintenance of equipment.

• Ensure that consumable stock levels are monitored and maintained.

• Ensure that all written procedures are adhered to, and participate in the identification, development, implementation and monitoring of new or revised procedures in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and other Health Care Professionals.

• Ensure effective multidisciplinary communications across the Nuclear Medicine Service, Clinical Management Groups and other Health Care Institutions.
