Receptionist duties/skills:

• Excellent customer service skills

• Good working knowledge of Word, email, internet etc

• Flexibility & enthusiasm for the job

• Booking appointments face to face and via telephone

• Dealing with patient prescription requests and queries

• Liaising with other community service providers such as hospitals, other GPs

• Handling requests from patients and GPs or local pharmacy enquiries

Administration:

• Scanning and read coding

• Organising referrals for secondary care specialities

• Reviewing notes/notes summarising

• Registering new patients

• Ringing patients to book appointments for appropriate clinics
