KEY DISPENSING RESPONSIBILITIES

1.1

To

dispense medication as directed by the GPs and in line with Practice Protocol.

1.2

To

maintain stock control.

1.3

To

order drugs as required.

1.4

To

ensure the safe storage of medication and controlled drugs.

1.5

To

ensure the process of dispensing is timely and accurate.

1.6

Maintain

the on-call drug box stock supplies daily.

1.7

Ensure

proper procedure for the administration of controlled drugs.

2. KEY ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1

Responsibility

for checking deliveries and making sure they match the order.

2.2

Responsible

for the collection and preparation of prescriptions for submission to PPA on a

monthly basis.

2.3

To collect monies from private patients & paying dispensary patients.

2.3

Liaise

with patients re exempt status and ensure all FP10s are processed correctly.

2.4

To

deal with telephone enquiries and face to face in a professional and friendly

manner.

2.5

Liaise

closely with dispensing GP lead.

3. KEY TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1

To

be flexible and cover holiday and sickness of colleagues.

3.2

To

support and assist team members.

3.3

Be

willing to train staff as necessary.

3.4

Ensure

good lines of communication between colleagues.

3.5

Ability

to work under pressure and to tight timetables.

3.6

Liaise

with Business Manager who oversees Dispensary.
